Is TTLock the smartest Bluetooth lock choice for modern home security?

So anyway, getting a smart lock. Everyone says gotta do it. Security, you know? Plus keys are annoying. Lose them down the sofa. Did that Tuesday. Or is it Thursday? Whatever. Bluetooth locks seem easiest cause they work with your phone mostly.

Looked online tons. Reviews, videos, forums… people arguing about which keypad is best or something. So confusing! Saw one lock where the fingerprint thing never worked right for my uncle Phil. Moist fingers, he says. Maybe he washes too much? Dunno. Point is, fingerprint felt risky. Also cold weather worries me? Batteries hate cold, right? My car tyre pressure light always goes on when its freezing. Annoying!

Then the TTLokc kept popping up. TTLock? ttlock. Yeah, that’s it. Saw it mentioned alot. Bluetooth LE, whatever that means. Sounds technical, so must be good? Installation… oh man. Instructions might as well been in Greek. Or Chinese, since it is a Chinese company I think? Anyway, fiddly. Took ages and I scratched my door paint a bit. My wife was not pleased. “You said it was quick!” Well, it wasn’t quick quick. More like… medium speed. Plus the manual said something about fire codes that made me paranoid for an hour.

Pros: Once it finally worked (after reinstalling the app twice, stupid updates!), it’s actually nifty. Open door with phone mostly. Kids can use a code. Guest codes? Yeah, kinda forget to set those up though. Does the lock really need charging? Feels like it never needs charging, but maybe I just got lucky battery? Friend says his locks chew through batteries in 3 months but my tlock thingy is maybe 6 months on first set? Feels longer. Time flies! Battery app reminder says 70% or is it 80%? I forget to check. Whatever, works. And the auto-lock is great. Closes behind me. Useful when hands full with laundry or… giant bag of crisps.

Cons: Sometimes the phone app needs turning off and on. Bluetooth acts funny if another lock is nearby? My neighbor has Yale lock I think, maybe it interferes? Dunno. It happened once in the rain. Was wet and angry. Phone didn’t wanna talk to the lock. Had to fumble for keys which… I think I left inside? Panic! Found the override key in muddy flowerbed. Phew. Also, the keypad makes a beep that’s like… too loud? Like I’m trying to sneak in past midnight, don’t need fanfare! Can probably turn that off. Haven’t figured out how. Maybe in settings? Gets complicated. Also, software updated last week. Hope it doesn’t break.

Compared to other locks? Well, the fancy Yale one my friend has cost like twice as much. Does it do twice the locking? Doubtful. That August lock sounded cool till I heard you gotta change the whole deadbolt inside? Too much hassle. Kwikset? Forget it. They look old fashioned. Like 2017 tech. And keyless entry gates? Different product entirely. Wrong article.

So, is TTLock the smartest Bluetooth lock choice? Hmm… well, for me, after the painful install and occasional app tantrum, it is darn handy 90% of the time. Beats keys for sure. Is it “smartest”? Well… It works. Mostly good. Enough features. Battery lasts. Pretty secure? Yeah, guess so. Better than my old lock where you could jiggle the handle hard and… nevermind. Anyway, for modern home security on a budget that isnt crazy, this TTLock thing seems a decent pick. Maybe best? Probably? I mean, I bought it and I’m like… 85% happy. Good enough! Thats all. Gotta go, low battery reminder popped up… on my phone, not the lock! Ha!
